Digital Automobile Engine Temperature Monitoring System

Dr Riaz ul Hasnain Head of Department of Electronics Engineering UET Peshawar along with his students has developed first ever prototype of Electronics digital automobile engine temparature monitoring system. The system is designed to pick up the heat temperature directly from the engine block or head and which is digitally displayed in the celcius LCD screen in the car.

    The new system has several advantages over the traditional analog engine temparature gauge in the automobiles. By incoporating this system in the cars temparature of transmission and differential assembly can also be monitored accuarately which is of great importance espacially in a heavy vehicles. The system need no major modification for installing in the existing engines of vehicles even if they are on the patrol ,CNG and Diesel. It has additional feature of audible alarm which pre warm the driver about the over heating and engine can be turn off well intime avoiding damage to vehicle. Automatic engine shut off facility at predetermined threshold temperatures is in coperated .
